Let's talk about The Sims. Not quite pre internet, but early enough that I, for one, as a 13-year-old boy was not searching online for things to do in the game. Instead, I was working it out for myself.
The now infamous "remove the pool ladder to kill your Sim" trick was something that millions of us independently knew to try, and we were blown away by the results. Some kid thousands of miles away had the exact same thought and got the exact same outcome.
So in today's video I'm reflecting on a bygone era when all I had to go on with a game was a half-page preview write-up in PC Gamer and my own intuition.
